Ferris State Soccer Listed In Initial NCAA D2 Midwest Regional Rankings
Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University women soccer team, which is on a current nine-game unbeaten stretch, has been featured among the Midwest Region's top squads in the initial NCAA Division II Regional Rankings unveiled by the national organization today.
For the first time this year, the first regional rankings list schools under consideration in alphabetical order for the first ranking of the season rather than being listed in order. The top nine schools were chosen for the Midwest Region.
Along with Ferris State, the initial NCAA-II Midwest Regional Rankings include two other Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) members in Grand Valley State and Northern Michigan.
In addition to the GLIAC member schools, the Midwest listing also includes four Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) institutions in Ashland, Cedarville, Findlay and Northwood along with two from the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) in Maryville (Mo.) and McKendree (Ill.).
The regional rankings will continue to be announced each of the next two weeks until the official NCAA Division II Tournament selections are announced following the conclusion of conference tournament play the week of Nov. 7.
Ferris State has made a pair of NCAA Tournament appearances in program history, including 2018 and a year ago in 2021.
This week, the Bulldogs return home to host a pair of GLIAC opponents in Michigan Tech on Friday (Oct. 21) and Northern Michigan on Sunday (Oct. 23) at the Bulldog Soccer Field. Both contests get underway at 1 p.m. (ET).
