Big Rapids, Mich. - A pair of Ferris State University women's soccer student-athletes have received All-Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) honors for the 2012 campaign as announced by the league office.

Senior defender Amanda Foster (Byron Center/South Christian) was an All-GLIAC Second Team honoree this fall while sophomore midfielder Leanne Boehm (Macomb/Henry Ford II) received honorable mention all-conference accolades.

Voting was conducted by the league's member head coaches and announced in conjunction with the 2012 GLIAC Tournament with the semfinals and finals held this past weekend (Nov. 2-4) at Grand Valley State in Allendale.

The Ferris State women's soccer team made its third consecutive GLIAC Tournament appearance this fall and advanced to the semifinals for only the second time in school history where FSU fell to defending national runner-up GVSU on Friday (Nov. 2) night at the Laker Soccer Field.

Besides earning all-conference laurels, Foster was also one of two Bulldog players named to the GLIAC Women's Soccer All-Tournament Team along with freshman forward Nichole Boehnke (Grand Blanc).

A four-year letterwinner, Foster played a key role as a defensive leader for the Bulldogs in her senior campaign as she started all 19 contests and played a squad-high 1,677 total minutes.  Meanwhile, Boehm ranked third on the squad in total shots with 36 and started 14 of her 18 outings for FSU where she finished with seven points on three goals and an assist.

The Bulldogs concluded the 2012 campaign with a 9-7-3 overall record under head coach Matt Kellogg.
