The Ferris State University women's soccer team will play its two Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) matches this weekend (Oct. 8 and 10) at Top Taggart Field on the FSU campus in Big Rapids, Mich.

The Bulldogs entertain the Saginaw Valley State Cardinals this Friday (Oct. 8) at 4 p.m. (EDT) before squaring off against the Northwood Timberwolves on Sunday (Oct. 10), starting at 12 p.m. (EDT).

Both of this upcoming weekend's GLIAC North Division matches were previously scheduled to be held at the FSU Soccer Field.

"We're anticipating a good crowd for this weekend's matches," said FSU first-year head coach Matt Kellogg.  "The weather is supposed to be great and it's also Homecoming weekend with many of our alumni coming back to Ferris State."

This Friday's (Oct. 8) conference match versus Saginaw Valley State is one of three Bulldog women's athletics events as part of Ferris State Athletics' Women In Sports Day.

Earlier this season (Sept. 10), FSU suffered a 1-0 road loss to the Cardinals at University Center, Mich., before registering a 3-0 victory over Northwood (Sept. 12) at Midland, Mich.

Following this weekend, the Bulldogs have two more regular-season home dates remaining on their 2010 schedule versus Michigan Tech (Oct. 17) and Northern Michigan (Oct. 17).

A season ago, Ferris State played its final three regular-season matches at Top Taggart Field and posted a 1-2 record in those encounters.  The Bulldogs claimed a 2-0 win over Northwood (Oct. 25) before falling 3-0 to Saginaw Valley State (Oct. 28) and then suffering a 2-1 setback against Grand Valley State in the season finale (Oct. 30).

Ferris State enters this weekend's action with a current 4-5-1 overall record and a 4-3-1 mark in the GLIAC's North Division.  The Bulldogs are 4-1-1 in their last six appearances to date, which featured a five-match unbeaten streak at one point.
