FSU Basketball Travels To Upper Peninsula

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University men's and women's basketball squads hit the road for a pair of Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) doubleheaders on back-to-back days in Michigan's Upper Peninsula this weekend.

FSU first visits Michigan Tech on Saturday, Dec. 18, with the men's game at 1 p.m. (ET) and the women's contest starting at approximately 3 p.m. (ET) inside MTU's Student Development Complex Gymansium in Hougton.

Ferris then heads to Marquette the following day on Sunday, Dec. 19, for a league twinbill versus Northern Michigan at NMU's Berry Events Center.  Sunday's men's contest also begins at 1 p.m. (ET) with the women taking the floor at approximately 3 p.m. (ET).

Tickets for both doubleheaders will be sold at the door starting prior to the opening game.

The Bulldog men's team is presently 6-3 overall and 3-1 in the GLIAC with the women's squad holding a 5-3 mark and a 2-2 league ledger going into this weekend's trip.  The Bulldog teams both defeated Northwood at home in their most recent action last Saturday (Dec. 11) with the men topping the Timberwolves 76-65 and the women recording an 81-79 triumph at FSU's Jim Wink Arena.

Michigan Tech's men's team currently leads the GLIAC North Division with an 8-1 overall record and a 3-0 league slate heading into Saturday's game.  Meanwhile, the Huskies' women's team is also unbeaten in league play at 3-0 while owning a 6-1 overall mark.

Northern Michigan will host Grand Valley State on Saturday prior to meeting the Bulldogs the following day.  Currently, NMU's men's and women's squads both maintain identical 5-3 overall and 0-1 league records to date.

Both Ferris State basketball doubleheaders will be carried live via an internet-only audio broadcast this weekend.  Due to the holiday break closing, they will not be carried on Bulldog Radio but instead streamed free via Ustream with Rob Bentley providing the play-by-play coverage.

In addition to the FSU broadcast coverage, MTU will provide its own live audio and video pay-per-view webcast on Saturday with Northern Michigan offering a live audio/video webcast from America One on Sunday.  Both schools will also provide live internet statistics and fans can also follow twitter or facebook scoring updates.
