Big Rapids, Mich. - Ferris State University senior outside hitter Aly Brecht (Alma) has received this week's Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) North Division Player of the Week honor for her performance in helping the Bulldogs to two league victories this past weekend.

The senior totaled nine kills with 10 digs in Friday's (Nov. 9) 3-0 league win over the Chargers before adding 13 kills and hitting .367 in Saturday's (Nov. 10) 3-0 triumph over Northwood as FSU stopped the Timberwolves' league unbeaten streak. She averaged 4.08 points per set.
Presently, Brecht has compiled 255 digs, 241 kills, 43 blocks and 23 service aces to date this season. The 2011 All-GLIAC Honorable Mention honoree ranks third on the team in kills and fourth in digs this campaign.
Brecht and the Bulldogs will host Wayne State in the quarterfinal-round of the 2012 GLIAC Tournament on Wednesday (Nov. 14) evening at the Ewigleben Sports Arena.
