The Ferris State University women's volleyball program will be holding its sixth annual "Back To School" night this Friday (Sept. 10) evening in conjunction with the 2010 squad's contest against the Northern Michigan Wildcats at the FSU Ewigleben Sports Arena in Big Rapids, Mich.
Opening serve for the 2010 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) opener between the two teams is 7 p.m. (EDT).
Those fans who attend this Friday's match can earn free admission by providing a new school supply, which will in turn be distributed by the Bulldog Athletics Department for use in local elementary classrooms. Items should be in new package condition and can include such materials as crayons, construction paper, markers, glue, notebooks and pencils.
Ferris State, which is directed by 15th-year head coach Tia Brandel-Wilhelm, has presently registered a 3-1 overall record to begin the 2010 campaign.
Following this Friday's (Sept. 10) conference opener, the Bulldogs wrap up their season-opening six-match homestand on Sunday (Sept. 12) with a 2 p.m. (EDT) league encounter versus the Michigan Tech Huskies in Big Rapids. The matchup against Michigan Tech will mark the Ferris' final home appearance this month as the Bulldogs return to their home floor on Oct. 1 to host conference rival Grand Valley State.
