The Ferris State University women's volleyball program has signed Lindsey Miller (Granger, Ind./Mishawaka Penn) to a National Letter of Intent to attend and play volleyball for the Bulldogs, starting this 2009 fall season. The announcement was made by FSU head coach Tia Brandel-Wilhelm.

"Lindsey is a very experienced player," said Brandel-Wilhelm, who will begin her 14th season at Ferris State this fall. "Lindsey's goal-oriented tenacity will give her ample opportunity to make an impact in this program. We're truly excited to add Lindsey to our program."

Miller earned All-Northern Indiana Conference (NIC) First-Team honors in 2008 under head coach Lisa Pawlik and was a member of the Indiana All-Star Team. The 2008 team captain totaled 322 kills, 52 block solos, 61 block assists and 41 service aces in 109 games during her final prep campaign. The 6-2 middle hitter garnered Kiwanis Athlete of the Month honors this past October and was named the WTRC Student-Athlete of the Week on one occasion as a senior. In her senior year, Miller led Penn High to both conference and sectional championship titles as the Kingsmen went on to participate in the state tournament's Elite Eight.

As a junior in 2007, Miller was a repeat winner of the team's Brick Wall Award (2006-07) and was recognized as the South Bend Tribune's Athlete of the Week (Oct. 25). She concluded the season with 126 kills, 21 block solos, 95 block assists, and a service ace in 96 games played. Miller helped the Kingsmen win three 2007 regular-season tournaments - Plymouth Powerball, Tom Heck Tournament, and the Merrillville Invitational.

Miller recorded 39 kills with 11 block solos and 49 block assists in 103 games for her 2006 sophomore year. The 2006 Kingsmen squad were state qualifiers and finished third place at the state tourney after winning conference, sectional, and regional championships. PHS also won the Tom Heck Tournament crown.

Besides volleyball, Miller also competed in basketball for two seasons at the prep level.

In club volleyball, Miller played for the Dunes Volleyball Club under head coach Kylee Osbourne.

The daughter of James and Allison Miller of Granger, Ind., Lindsey will study pre-pharmacy at Ferris State.
