Volleyball Arena Undergoes A Makeover

The Ewigleben Sports Arena, which serves as the home of the Ferris State University women's volleyball program, will feature a new appearance after undergoing a "makeover" this spring to comply with university-mandated graphic standards.

The project was completed in May 2009 in order for the FSU women's volleyball program to conduct their annual summer instructional camps.

The new appearance includes a "half-Bulldog" head in one corner of the court along with the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) logo in the opposite corner. Wording includes "Bulldogs" at both ends of the court along with "Ferris State University" in opposite corners facing the seating area. The floor is outlined in crimson with the wording also in gold and volleyball court markings in black.

Ewigleben Sports Arena has been the home of the Bulldog volleyball program since 1981. The arena, located on the southwest end of campus, is named after former FSU President Dr. Robert L. Ewigleben. The 12th president in the University's history, Ewigleben served in the position from 1971-83. The current wood-surface floor was originally installed in 2001.

The Ewigleben Sports Arena has served as the NCAA Division II Regional Championship Tournament site in 1982, 1987, and 1989.

Ferris State has registered a 271-73 (.788 winning pct.) all-time record to date inside the Ewigleben Sports Arena.
