Official Times & Info Set For NCAA-II Regional

Big Rapids, Mich. -- Official game times along with ticket and hotel information have been made available for Ferris State University fans wishing to follow the Bulldog women's basketball squad to the 2012 NCAA Division II Midwest Regional Tournament this weekend (March 9-12) in Ashland, Ohio.

The Bulldogs are seeded second in the eight-team regional field and will face seventh-seeded Drury (Mo.) in the second of four quarterfinal-round contests on Friday (March 9) at 2:30 p.m. (ET) inside Kates Gymnasium on the Ashland University campus.

Tickets for the FSU-Drury contest can be purchased one hour prior to the start of each session at the the entrance to Kates Gymnasium.  Ticket prices are $10 for adult general admission tickets or $4 for all student tickets.

A separate ticket will need to be purchased for each session, which consists of two games. The facility will be cleared between sessions.

Session #1 (Wisconsin-Parkside vs. Indianapolis, Ferris State vs. Drury)
Session #2 (Ashland vs. Maryville, Northern Kentucky vs. Quincy)
Session #3 (Two semifinal contests on Saturday)
Session #4 (Monday, March 12 Regional Championship Game)

There is no discount for purchasing multiple sessions and no complimentary tickets will be issued per NCAA regulations.  All tickets are cash or check only.

If the Bulldogs advance to Saturday's (March 10) regional semifinals, then presale tickets will be available immeidately following the quarterfinal game. For more information, please contact Ashland's athletic office at (419) 289-5441.

Local radio station Sunny 97.3 FM, in conjunction with the Bulldog Sports Network, is scheduled to broadcast all of Ferris State's games in the regional tournament live from Kates Gymnasium.  Rob Bentley will call the play-by-play action starting with the Meijer Pregame Show prior to tipoff each day. A free live audio feed will also be provided online at  

Ashland University will provide live internet statistics. However, there will be no live video offered for the tournament. Periodic scoring updates will also be available on Ferris State Athletics' official Facebook and Twitter pages.  

The Holiday Inn Express, which is located in Ashland, will serve as the official hotel for Ferris State University and is recommended for Bulldog Basketball fans.  Fans should call the Holiday Inn Express at (419) 289-2900 for accomodations.

The single-elimination national tournament field includes eight regions of eight teams apiece. The Midwest Regional champion will advance to the 2012 NCAA Division II Women's Elite Eight set for March 20-23 in San Antonio, Texas.

FSU has made three previous NCAA-II National Tournament appearances, including  Sweet Sixteen showing in its most recent appearance during the 2006-07 campaign.  The Bulldogs are presently 22-6 overall this season and earned runner-up honors in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Tournament this past weekend in Ashland.  Meanwhile, Drury University, which is located in Springfield, Mo., owns a 20-7 mark to date this campaign and will be making its 10th consecutive NCAA Tournament berth.

12 p.m. - #3 Wisconsin-Parkside vs. #6 Indianapolis
2:30 p.m. - #2 Ferris State vs. #7 Drury
6 p.m. - #1 Ashland vs. #8 Maryville
8:30 p.m. - #4 Northern Kentucky vs. #5 Quincy

Saturday's regional semifinal games will be played at 5 p.m. (ET) and 7:30 p.m. (ET) with the championship game on Monday night at 7 p.m. (ET).  With a first round win, FSU would face the winner of the Wisconsin-Parkside/Indianapolis contest in Saturday's first semifinal game.
