Ferris head coach Tracey Dorow was joined by
local media representatives inside FSU's Jim Wink Arena for the
teleconference and media members had an opportunity to conduct
one-on-one interviews following the call.
The poll was chosen for the third year in a row by selected
members of the media and the GLIAC's Sports Information Directors.
The 24-member group tabbed Michigan Tech and Northwood to win the
conference's North and South Division titles, respectively.
The Bulldogs totaled 74 points in the balloting and trailed

votes.
Northwood received 16 first-place votes in the South Division en
route to a 128-point effort with Hillsdale taking seven divisional
top votes and 125 points overall in placing second. Findlay
finished third with 90 points and the last remaining first-place
vote.
In addition to the preseason media poll, the league also released
a Preseason All-GLIAC Team, which was chosen by the conference's
head coaches. Michigan Tech's Katie Wysocky claimed Preseason
Player of the Year Award laurels.
"I'm excited about the season and some of the fresh new faces we
have this year," said Dorow, who will embark on her 12th season at
the helm. "We'll have some changes this year with the kids we lost,
but it is an exciting time to be part of Bulldog basketball."
The Ferris State women's basketball squad concluded the 2008-09
season with a 13-15 overall record after winning seven of their
final nine contests. The Bulldogs made their 10th consecutive and
11th overall berth in the GLIAC Tournament where they advanced to
the semifinals for the third-straight year in 2008-09.
The Bulldogs will hit the court for the first time with an
exhibition game at NCAA Division I Oakland on Sunday, Nov. 1, in
Rochester Hills, Mich. FSU then officially opens the 2009-10 season
