Ferris State Softball To Hold First-Ever Home Run Derby On Sept. 17

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University softball program will hold its first "Home Run Derby" on Saturday, Sept. 17, at the FSU Softball Field.

The home run derby will follow the Bulldogs' fall ball contest the same day and start at approximately 4 p.m. (ET). The event will serve as a fundraiser for the Bulldog Softball program.

FSU's Home Run Derby will include three divisions, including a men's division, a women's 18 and up division along with a kid's division for ages 5-10.

All participants will get a maximum of 10 swings a round for a cost of only $2 a swing for adults or $1 a swing for kids. Prizes will be given for the first and second place winners in both the men's and women's divisions along with the first-place winner in the kids division. The potential prize items include football game tickets, hockey game tickets, team gear and more.
