The Ferris State University softball team's Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) doubleheader against Lake Superior State has been rescheduled for this Friday (April 8) afternoon at a site yet to be determined.
The first game is scheduled to start at 3:30 p.m. (EDT) with game two to follow around 5:30 p.m. (EDT). Live statistics for both outings will be available at this link.
An accumulation of snow at Rockford (Mich.) High School's Varsity Field this past Sunday (April 3) forced cancellation of the conference twinbill between the two teams. Game one was in the bottom of the fourth inning before the umpires officially halted the contest due to unplayable field conditions.
Prior to Friday's (April 8) action, Ferris State is on the diamond this Wednesday (April 6) for a pair of conference divisional games against the Northwood Timberwolves at NU's Fisher Stadium in Midland, Mich. The starting times for both outings have been moved up to 2 p.m. (EDT) and 4:30 p.m. (EDT), respecively as a forecast of rain is expected in the Midland area. Following the initial two GLIAC doubleheaders this week (April 6 and 8), the Bulldogs visit the Saginaw Valley State Cardinals for back-to-back league twinbills this weekend (April 9-10) in University Center, Mich.
Ferris State currently sports an 8-12 overall record and is third in the GLIAC North Division standings with a 5-3 conference mark for the 2011 season.
