Ferris State Softball Makes NCAA Midwest Regional Rankings

The Ferris State University softball team is ranked 10th in the NCAA Division II Midwest Regional rankings which were released on Wednesday (April 14) by the NCAA-II Softball Committee.
The top eight teams in each of the eight NCAA-II regions will qualify for NCAA Regional Tournament competition. The top two teams within each region will have an opportunity to host a sub-regional tournament on May 14-16. The winners of each sub-regional will play each other in the super regional (May 21-22) with the winner advancing to the 2010 NCAA-II Softball Championships (May 27-31) at Heritage Park in St. Joseph, Mo.
The eight regions consist of Atlantic, Central, East, Midwest, South, South Central, Southeast, and West.
Ferris State, which is currently 16-11 overall and 7-4 in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) this season under head coach Keri Becker, will host a pair of doubleheaders this weekend (April 17-18) at the FSU Varsity Softball Field in Big Rapids, Mich. The Bulldogs take on the Tiffin Dragons this Saturday (April 17) before wrapping up their six-game league homestand on Sunday (April 18) against the Ashland Eagles.
The top 10 teams in each region are listed in rank order with records as of April 12.
