Big Rapids, Mich. - A few small changes have been made to the previously announced 2012-13 Ferris State University men's ice hockey schedule released earlier this month.
The changes involve games versus cluster and rival opponents Michigan and Western Michigan. Previously, the contests against both teams were all set for weekend home-and-home action, but that has now changed.
Ferris State will now host Michigan for two games inside the Ewigleben Ice Arena on Nov. 30 and Dec. 1 in Big Rapids. In turn, the Bulldogs will close out the regular-season against the Wolverines at Yost Ice Arena in Ann Arbor on March 1-2. The two home tilts are set for a 7:05 p.m. (ET) puck drop with the two road games beginning at 7:35 p.m. (ET).
Additionally, FSU will now face Western Michigan on the road the first half of the season on Dec. 7-8 in Kalamazoo. The Broncos will return to Big Rapids for a two-game set on Feb. 1-2. All four games between FSU and WMU begin at 7:05 p.m. (ET).
The changes were made to provide better balance to the respective first and second-half schedules of all three league counterparts.
The schedule remains subject to change as a result of the CCHA's television broadcast schedule which will be announced in September. Fans are encouraged to frequently view Ferris State Athletics' official website at www.FerrisStateBulldogs.com for the latest Bulldog Hockey schedule updates and changes.
Information regarding season and single-game ticket sales for the 2012-13 campaign along with game promotional information will be announced in the near future.
This past season, in 2011-12, the Bulldogs claimed the school's second Central Collegiate Hockey Association (CCHA) Regular-Season Championship in the last 10 years, won the NCAA Division I Midwest Regional title and reached the national championship game at the NCAA Frozen Four.
