Ferris State to Host Watch Party Friday

Big Rapids, Mich. - Ferris State Athletics will be hosting a "watch party" for the Bulldogs' NCAA Hockey Regional game in conjunction with the annual FSU Football Lift-a-Thon on Friday night (March 23) at Wink Arena.

Admission is free and the doors open at 5 p.m. (ET), a half-hour before the opening faceoff. The ESPN produced game will be streamed onto an eight-foot projection screen for fans in attendance.

The Bulldog men's ice hockey team received the program's second-ever NCAA Division I Tournament berth as the official announcement of this year's 16-team championship field was made during the NCAA Selection Show on ESPNU this past weekend.

FSU is seeded second in the Midwest Regional and will face third-seeded Denver on Friday at the Resch Center in Green Bay, Wis. Opening faceoff is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. (ET).

Ferris State's hockey game will be televised live throughout the ESPN Syndication networks beginning at 5:30 p.m. (ET) and will be replayed on ESPNU at 11:30 p.m. (ET) on Friday evening. Altitude Sports and Entertainment will also simulcast the game live on DirecTV, channel 681 and Dish Network, channel 410.

The 30th annual Lift-A-Thon, which serves as a primary fundraiser for the Bulldog Football Program and is operated in conjunction with the FSU Gridiron Club and the Bulldog Athletic Association, is open to the public free of charge and will begin at 5 p.m. (ET) inside FSU's Jim Wink Arena.

For the first time, this year's Lift-A-Thon will also coincide with the first spring practice under first-year head coach Tony Annese, which will take place under the lights at Top Taggart Field beginning at 9 p.m. (ET).  Fans are invited and encouraged to attend both events.
