Game Day Central
Big Rapids, Mich. - The nation's number-one ranked Ferris State University men's ice hockey team will put its 12-game unbeaten streak on the line this weekend (Feb. 17-18) as the Bulldogs host Bowling Green State in Central Collegiate Hockey Association (CCHA) action at the Ewigleben Ice Arena.
The two-game series has a 7:05 p.m. (EDT) start time slated for both contests on Friday and Saturday.
FSU will help celebrate USA Hockey's "Hockey Weekend Across America" as the Bulldogs are offering a special BOGO (Buy One, Get One Free) offer for all full-priced ($12) adult tickets. The offer is only available until Wednesday (Feb. 15) at 7 p.m. and available while supplies last thru the FSU Ticket Office only. All tickets will be regular price beginning on Thursday morning.
The Bulldogs will honor a local Big Rapids Hockey Hero as part of the "Hockey Weekend Across America" celebration and an autograph night will take place following Saturday's home contest. The "Local Hockey Heroes" initiative awards individuals who go above and beyond to make the game of hockey great in Michigan.
Saturday's contest will also be played on this year's seventh annual "Warrior Hockey Day In Michigan", which is ran in conjunction with "Hockey Weekend Across America". Michigan has over 63,000 USA Hockey registered players, coaches, and officials — the second most of any state in the country.
FSU currently holds the nation's longest current unbeaten streak at 12 games with a 9-0-3 mark to date since the New Year began and is ranked first in both the U.S. College Hockey Online (USCHO) and Inside College Hockey.com (INCH) polls.
The Bulldogs presently lead the CCHA with 47 points in the standings this season and FSU is the first team in the nation to record 20 wins on the year with a 20-8-4 overall mark to date. Ferris State leads second place Western Michigan in the CCHA by five points with four regular-season contests remaining.
