Big Rapids, Mich. - Ferris State University men's ice hockey fans are encouraged to WEAR RED and "Bleed Out The Rink" in support of the Bulldogs during this Friday's (Dec. 2) Central Collegiate Hockey Association (CCHA) home matchup against rival Western Michigan.
Opening faceoff for the first game of the league home-and-home series against the Broncos is set for 7:05 p.m. (ET). The matchup pits the nation's sixth-ranked Bulldogs against the 12th-ranked Broncos with both teams currently within one place of each other in the league standings and sitting fourth and fifth, respectively, heading into this week's action.
Bulldog Athletics is partnering on campus with a student marketing group for the "Bleed Out The Rink" promotion and a variety of prizes will be given away. Fans are encouraged to wear as much red as possible and it will be required to enter any of the contests. Special red shirts will be sold across campus this week for only $7.
Prizes will include such items as four Detroit Red Wings tickets, five $5 Biggy Coffee gift cards, water bottles donated by MC Sports, a free two-week pass to Bulldawg Fitness, 18 holes of golf with cart at Grand Haven Golf Club, Tan Lines coupons, gift cards, pizza and more. Special ticket stubs will also feature discounts and prizes.
Additionally, "Wings Between The Wink & The Rink" will be sponsored by FSU Student Government during the game with chicken wings being offered. Fans can receive 10 boneless wings and celery sticks for only $5 starting at 6 p.m. and running thru the second period with proceeds going to raise funds for the Scholastic Leadership Scholarship.
Fans can also signup between now and Thursday (Dec. 1) at Big Rapids Furniture for Ferris State's "Spark The Excitement, Spark The Horn" promotion, which will give lucky Bulldog fans an opportunity to possibly experience one of Bulldog Hockey's most sacred traditions. Any fan can signup prior to gameday at Big Rapids Furniture this week for a chance to spark the horn.
Tickets for all 2011-12 Bulldog home regular-season hockey games can be purchased by contacting the FSU Athletics Ticket Office at (231) 591-2888. The FSU Athletics Ticket Office's normal hours of operation are from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. (ET) weekdays. The ticket office will also offer extended hours until 7 p.m. (ET) on Wednesday's throughout the season and be open on hockey home game Saturday's at 12 p.m. (ET).

After Friday's matchup, the two teams will play the series' finale on Saturday night (Dec. 3) at WMU's Lawson Ice Arena in Kalamazoo with the puck set to drop at 7:05 p.m. (ET) as well.
Both of this weekend's games will be broadcasted live on the Bulldog Sports Network and Sunny 97.3 FM with Dominic Hennig calling the play-by-play action and Dan Kowalski offering color commentary.
