A Continue The Ferris Hockey Legacy! reunion honoring Ferris State University men's ice hockey players and coaches from the classes of 1979-89 will be held Saturday, Feb. 19, in conjunction with the Bulldogs' hockey game against Notre Dame.
As part of the 1979-89 Ferris State Hockey Reunion Weekend (Feb. 18-19) festivities, those former Bulldog players and coaches from the 1979-89 era in attendance will be introduced between the first and second periods of Ferris State's Central Collegiate Hockey Association (CCHA) tilt versus the Fighting Irish. Following the contest's conclusion, an after-game social will take place in the Bulldog Hockey Locker room lounge area.
Admission is free for FSU players and coaches from the 1979-89 teams. A group ticket price of $6 will be available for family members and guests of the attendees, who include Steve Blair (1983), Peter Lowden (1987), and Steve Piotrowski (1982) among others to date.
The suite on the east end of the Ewigleben Ice Arena will be available on a first come, first-serve seating basis, but all invitees are welcome to come and go as they please. Food and refreshments will be served.
"This event is to honor and say thanks to those who played and coached during our first decade of Division I hockey," said FSU Athletic Advancement Officer Will Goode. "Their commitment to the program established a continual legacy that reflects the passion, detemination, and work ethic that our current team competes with night in and night out."
Opening faceoff is set for 7:05 p.m. (EST) in what represents the 2010-11 regular-season finale for the Bulldog hockey team.
For more information, please contact Will Goode at (231) 591-3818 or via e-mail at WilliamGoode@ferris.edu. For those who plan to attend, please rsvp by Friday, Feb. 11.
