2010-11 CCHA Television Schedule Release - (PDF)

The success achieved by the Ferris State University men's ice hockey team a season ago hasn't went unnoticed by the college hockey broadcast media as the Bulldogs will be appearing on television at least nine times this upcoming 2010-11 season per the Central Collegiate Hockey Association's (CCHA) television schedule which was released this Monday (Sept. 27).

Ferris State will be making a tentative combined nine television appearances for the 2010-11 campaign with FS Detroit (FSD), CBS College Sports, Comcast, and Ferris Television all showcasing the Bulldogs at some point this season.

FS Detroit (FSD) will highlight Ferris State twice during the regular season with both telecasts involving the Michigan State Spartans.  The first is scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 4, at MSU's Munn Ice Arena in East Lansing, Mich.  FSD also makes its annual appearance at the Ewigleben Ice Arena as the Bulldogs' home contest versus the Spartans on Thursday, Jan. 27, will be featured as the puck will drop at 7:35 p.m. (EST).  For the first time ever, all of FSD's college hockey programming will be presented in high definition.  Fox Sports Detroit, which celebrates its 14th season of televising CCHA hockey during the 2010-11 campaign, is available to more than 3.2 million cable and satellite households throughout Michigan and portions of Northwest Ohio and Northern Indiana.

Ferris State's lone appearance on CBS College Sports (CBSC) will occur Friday, Jan. 14, as the Bulldogs' opener of a weekend CCHA home-and-home series against the Michigan Wolverines is slated to be televised. Opening faceoff is 7:35 p.m. (EST) at UM's Yost Ice Arena in Ann Arbor, Mich.  Matt Shepard will handle the play-by-play duties while Dave Starman serves as color analyst for the CBSC package, which will also feature a CCHA Tournament First-Round series contest during the weekend of March 4-5.  CBS College Sports Network is available across the country via local cable and video providers along with nationally on DISH NETWORK (Channel 152) and DIRECTV (Channel 613).

Comcast Television will feature Ferris State three times in the 2010-11 regular season, starting with a Saturday, Oct. 30, tilt at Michigan.  A CCHA matchup on Tuesday, Nov. 23, between Ferris State and Michigan State airs from East Lansing, Mich.  The Bulldogs' third and final regular-season appearance on Comcast comes on Saturday, Jan. 15, live from FSU's Ewigleben Ice Arena as Michigan provides the opposition.  Comcast Television is offered on Comcast's digitial tier, Channel 900, to about 800,000 customers in the state of Michigan.

The contests are part of 50 games involving CCHA teams to be televised for the upcoming 2010-11 season, which includes 46 league regular-season and playoff encounters.

Locally, Ferris Television will air three CCHA outings on the Bulldogs' home ice during the first half of the 2010-11 season - versus Michigan (Oct. 29), against Miami (Dec. 5), and versus Michigan State (Dec. 3).

"We're thrilled to have Bulldog Hockey showcased a number of times on TV this upcoming season," said Ferris State head coach Bob Daniels, who embarks on his 19th season at FSU this 2010-11 campaign.  "Having these televised contests is great exposure not only for our program, but for Ferris State University.  We're appreciative of FOX Sports Detroit coming to Big Rapids again to highlight one of our home games and also are excited about Comcast making their first-ever appearance on our campus."

Ferris State will make preparations for the 2010-11 campaign this Saturday (Oct. 2) versus the Ontario Institute of Technology in a 7:05 p.m. (EDT) exhibition contest at FSU's Ewigleben Ice Arena.  The Bulldogs will officially drop the puck on their 2010-11 season next weekend, Oct. 7-8, against the Alabama-Huntsville Chargers in Huntsville, Ala.  Opening faceoff for both non-conference games is 8:05 p.m. (EDT).

The season home opener for Ferris State is scheduled for Oct. 15-16 with the St. Lawrence Saints providing the opposition.  Both outings are slated to commence at 7:05 p.m. (EDT).  Tickets may be purchased at the FSU Athletics Ticket Office in person or at West Michigan Meijer StarTickets outlets.  Bulldog hockey game tickets may also be purchased online at www.startickets.com or by calling StarTickets at 1-800-585-3737.  The Student Services Office located in the Rankin Student Center on the FSU campus will also be selling single-game tickets.  For more information, please contact the FSU Athletics Ticket Office at (231) 591-2888.
