The College Hockey News (CHN) has selected the nationally-ranked 2009-10 Ferris State University men's ice hockey team as its Team of the Week as released this Wednesday (Dec. 8).
Ferris State is presently 11-3-2 overall with a third-place 6-2-2-2 mark in the Central Collegiate Hockey Association (CCHA) this season following its second consecutive home league series sweep to date. The Bulldogs extended their current unbeaten streak to eight (6-0-2) and home record to 10-0-0 with a pair of victories over nationally-ranked Nebraska-Omaha this last weekend (Dec. 4-5) at FSU's Ewigleben Ice Arena in Big Rapids, Mich.
Prior to this week, the last time Ferris State was featured as CHN's Team of the Week was in the 2007-08 season when the Bulldogs received such recognition on Feb. 20, 2008.

Ferris State, under the direction of 18th-year head coach Bob Daniels, are currently ranked 12th in the nation by USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine while the Bulldogs are listed 13th in the U.S. College Hockey Online (USCHO) poll and 15th by Inside College Hockey.com.
The Bulldogs are in action for the final time in 2009 this weekend (Dec. 11-12) with a two-game home-and-home CCHA series versus the Western Michigan Broncos. FSU visits WMU this Friday (Dec. 11) in a 7:35 p.m. (EST) matchup at Lawson Ice Arena in Kalamazoo, Mich., before hosting the Broncos in Saturday's (Dec. 12) finale at Big Rapids.
