Ferris State Makes College Hockey News' Midseason  Top-10 List

The nationally-ranked Ferris State University men's ice hockey team's success in the first-half of the 2009-10 season was recently recognized by College Hockey News, who lists the Bulldogs in its midseason top-10 rankings. 

Ferris State, which is off to a memorable 13-3-2 start this season, is listed 10th place in the online college hockey publication's midseason top-10 national rankings .  The Bulldogs, under the direction of 18th-year head coach Bob Daniels, are midst their best start since the 1979-80 season (14-4-0 overall) and are presently unbeaten in their last 10 contests with an 8-0-2 record.  FSU is also 11-0-0 at home this campaign which ties a school record for most consecutive home victories.  

Ferris State is presently ranked 11th in the nation by both USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine and U.S. College Hockey Online.  The Bulldogs are listed 14th in Inside College Hockey.com's poll. 

Earlier this season, Ferris State was recognized as College Hockey News' Team of the Week (Dec. 8).

Ferris State, which has been idle since mid-December, will compete in Wisconsin's 21st annual Badger Hockey Showdown this weekend (Jan. 2-3) at UW's Kohl Center in Madison, Wis.  The opening semifinal matchup on Saturday (Jan. 2) will be the "Battle of the Bulldogs" as Ferris State takes on nationally eighth-ranked Yale at 5 p.m. (EST) before seventh-ranked Wisconsin entertains Merrimack in the second game at 8 p.m. (EST).  The tourney's third-place and championship contests will be held this Sunday (Jan. 3) at 5 and 8 p.m. (EST), respectively.
