Ferris State To Host CCHA Playoff Second-Round Series

The Ferris State University Athletics Department has announced tickets for the nationally-ranked 2009-10 Bulldog men's ice hockey team's Central Collegiate Hockey Association (CCHA) Quarterfinal-Round series to be held on March 12-14 (third game if necessary) at FSU's Ewigleben Ice Arena in Big Rapids, Mich., are presently on sale.

The best two-of-three series will be against an opponent yet to be determined.  Opening faceoff for the first two second-round contests is set for 7:05 p.m. (EST) while the third game, if necessary, is also tentatively slated for a 7:05 p.m. (EST) start time.

Single-game ticket prices for the post-season series are $13 for adults, $11 for senior citizens, $9 for youth grades kindergarten thru 12th grade, and $6 for Ferris State students with valid identification.  Children under age five won't be required to purchase a ticket unless reserving a seat.

If Ferris State wins its quarterfinal-round series, the Bulldogs will automatically advance to the semifinals of the 2010 CCHA Championships to be held on Friday, March 19 at Joe Louis Arena in Detroit, Mich.  Game times are scheduled for either 4:35 p.m. (EDT) or 8:05 p.m. (EDT) for the remaining four teams.  The third-place game and the Mason Cup championship contest will be conducted on Saturday, March 20, at 3:35 p.m. (EDT) and 7:35 p.m. (EDT), respectively.

The CCHA will also serve as host of the 2010 NCAA Men's Frozen Four (April 8 and 10) at Ford Field in Detroit, Mich.
