Men's Golf To Play In GLIAC Championships

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University men's golf team will be the host institution for the 2011 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Championships on Sunday and Monday (Oct. 2-3).

The event will be held at Eagle Eye Golf Course at Hawk Hollow in Bath, Mich., beginning on Sunday morning with tee times starting at 8:30 a.m. (ET).

The 2011 GLIAC Championships will consist of 54 holes as the teams will play two rounds on Sunday and a single round on Monday.  The low four of five scores will count towards the respective team score for each squad.

Ferris State is the defending GLIAC men's golf champion heading into this year's tournament as the Bulldogs defeated Wayne State a year ago in the event held at the Grosse Ile (Mich.) Golf and Country Club course.

Last year's conference crown represented the 19th in the program's history and the Bulldogs' first since the 2004-05 season.
