Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University men's and women's basketball teams will visit archrival Grand Valley State on Saturday (Feb. 25) night for their final regular-season contests of the 2011-12 campaign.
Tipoff for the women's game against the Lakers is scheduled for 6 p.m. (ET) at the GVSU Fieldhouse Arena in Allendale with the men's game beginning at approximately 8 p.m. (ET).
Due to Ferris State Hockey coverage, the Bulldog Sports Network radio broadcast will not be carried on Sunny 97.3 FM. However, both games will be accessible online at www.FerrisStateBulldogs.com (see links above) with Rob Bentley calling the play-by-play action. The Meijer Pregame Show starts at 5:30 p.m.
The Bulldog women's basketball squad is currently 19-5 overall this season and 16-2 in league play heading into its last game of the regular-season. FSU, which won the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) North Division Championship, will be the number two seed for the GLIAC Tournament and host a quarterfinal-round game against an opponent to be determined on Wednesday, Feb. 29, at Wink Arena.
Meanwhile, the FSU men's team owns a 15-10 mark to date and is 12-6 in league play. Saturday's game may be for a share of the GLIAC North Division crown and a potential home game in the GLIAC Tournament Quarterfinals pending the outcome of Saturday's afternoon games in conference play.
Grand Valley State will also offer a live video webcast of both contests in addition to live internet statistics. In addition to the internet coverage, Bulldog fans can also follow both contests via live Twitter and Facebook scoring updates periodically throughout the game. Please visit www.facebook.com/ferrisathletics or www.twitter.com/ferrisathletics to follow the periodic posts and tweet-by-tweet coverage.
Complete GLIAC Tournament pairings, game times and ticket information will be released as soon as it is available upon the conclusion of regular-season play.
