Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University Athletics Department will hold its first of four "Kidz Dayz" this Saturday (Jan. 14) as the Bulldog men's and women's basketball squads host Northwood in Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) action at Jim Wink Arnea.
Fans are encouraged to join FSU Athletics in celebrating "Kidz Dayz" sponsored by Jet's Pizza at home contests on Jan. 14, Jan. 28, Feb. 4 and Feb. 11. The women's games tipoff on each of the four Saturday's at 1 p.m. (ET) with the men playing at 3 p.m. (ET).
The fun, exciting and free activities for kids include an arts and crafts table, bounce house, halftime activities, face painting, photos with Brutus the Bulldog and more.
The "Kidz Dayz" events are free to children in grades K-12 with a paid adult. Additionally, all kids four years old and under are free.
The Ferris State women's basketball squad currently holds first place in the GLIAC North Division standings with an 8-4 overall and 6-1 league record. Meanwhile, the Bulldog men are only one-half game behind divisional leader Michigan Tech heading into the week and are 8-6 overall along with 5-2 in conference play.
Prior to Saturday's conference twinbill, the Bulldog women host Urbana (Ohio) in their final non-conference contest of the year on Wednesday (Jan. 11) at 6 p.m. (ET).
Saturday's games are part of a Bulldog Athletics tripleheader at the Ewigleben Sports Complex with the nationally 13th-ranked FSU hockey team hosting Alaska at 7:05 p.m. (ET).
Ferris State home basketball tickets are sold on gameday starting one hour prior to tipoff at Wink Arena. Current FSU students are admitted free by showing a valid student ID card. For more ticket info, please call the FSU Athletics Ticket Office at (231) 591-2888.
All FSU contests are carried live by the Bulldog Sports Network with Rob Bentley calling the play-by-play coverage and available online at www.FerrisStateBulldogs.com. Additionally, both of Saturday's games will also be broadcast locally on Sunny 97.3 FM. A live pay-per-view video webcast and live internet statistics will also be offered.
