FSU's Kenny Brown Claims League Honor

Big Rapids, Mich. - Junior guard Kenny Brown (Farmington Hills/Harrison) of the Ferris State University men's basketball squad has earned this week's Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) North Division Player of the Week honor after leading the Bulldogs to a pair of wins last week.

Brown averaged a team-high 21 points per game as the Bulldogs won back-to-back non-conference home contests at FSU's Jim Wink Arena.  The 6-2 Brown scored a game-high 24 points with three rebounds and an assist in the Bulldogs' 82-46 triumph over Olivet on Tuesday (Nov. 22).  He then added a game-best 18 points with five rebounds and two assists as FSU topped previously unbeaten Wisconsin-Parkside by a 70-65 count in regional action on Saturday (Nov. 26) afternoon.

Brown totaled 42 points and eight rebounds in the two-game stretch while shooting 50% (13-26) from the floor and 61.5% (8-13) from beyond the three-point arc.  Additionally, he also converted all eight of his free throw attempts.

To date this campaign, Brown ranks as the Bulldogs' leading scorer at 15.0 points per game and is also averaging 4.2 rebounds a contest.  He was named to the NCAA Division II Midwest Regional All-Tournament Team at the end of last campaign after helping the Bulldogs to the NCAA-II Sweet Sixteen and a GLIAC North Division Championship.

Ferris State improved to 2-3 overall this campaign with the two victories as the Bulldogs get set to open GLIAC action on the road this week.  FSU visits Tiffin on Thursday, Dec. 1, for a 8 p.m. (ET) conference tilt in Tiffin, Ohio.  The Bulldogs then visit Ohio Domincian for the first-time ever on Saturday, Dec. 3, with tipoff set for 3 p.m. (ET) in Columbus, Ohio.

Both of this week's contests will be aired live on Sunny 97.3 FM and the Bulldog Sports Network with Rob Bentley providing the play-by-play coverage.  The live audio broadcast will also be streamed online at www.FerrisStateBulldogs.com.
