The other tournament quarterfinal games include: fourth-seeded Wayne State hosting fifth-seeded Hillsdale, number three seed Grand Valley State entertaining sixth-seeded Michigan Tech along with second-seeded Findlay hosting number seven seed Lake Superior State.

The winner of the GLIAC Tournament receives an automatic bid into the NCAA Division II Regional Tournament slated to be held March 12-15 at a campus location yet to be determined.

The Bulldog men are 8-13 all-time in 11 previous tournament appearances and reached the GLIAC Semifinals a season ago. Ferris captured the 1997-98 league tourney title and will be making its sixth appearance in the last seven years, including a third consecutive showing.  However, the Bulldogs have not played at home since recording a 73-68 quarterfinal-round win over Northern Michigan five years ago (2/28/06).

Ferris State, which captured the 2010-11 GLIAC North Division Championship, enters Wednesday's contest with a 20-6 overall record and wrapped up league play with a 16-3 mark this season.  Meanwhile, SVSU owns a 13-13 overall record to date and posted a fourth-place tying 9-10 divisional regular-season performance.

FSU was ranked 21st in last week's National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Division II Top 25 National Poll along with third in the NCAA-II Midwest Regional Rankings.

Ferris State and Saginaw Valley State played twice this season during regular-season action with the Bulldogs pulling out close wins both times.  FSU beat SVSU 82-74 on the road (Jan. 8) before topping the Cardinals 70-68 at Wink Arena (Feb. 5).

This year will also mark the second-straight year the Bulldogs and Cardinals have met in the league tournament quarterfinals as FSU pulled out a 65-59 win a year ago (3/2/10) in the first round contest at University Center, Mich.
