Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University men's basketball program will hold a special "1,000 Wins Celebration" in conjunction with the Bulldogs' regular-season finale against archrival Grand Valley State this Saturday (Feb. 26) at Jim Wink Arena.

All former players have been invited back to campus to help the Bulldogs commemorate the impressive achievement.  The special event and ceremony will take place during the men's showdown with GVSU, which is scheduled for a 1 p.m. (ET) tipoff.

"We'd like to welcome back all the former players from so many great teams to commemorate this impressive feat," said ninth-year FSU head coach Bill Sall.  "We're excited to have many Bulldog legends such as Coach Tom Ludwig, Emma Wink and Dean Davenport coming back for this extraordinary event as we battle our archrival Grand Valley State in an important GLIAC showdown.

"We're hoping the Bulldog fans will come out and honor these all-time greats," he added.

The special halftime celebration will include an introduction, presentation of the "1,000th" victory game ball, crowd recognition and a memorable group photo opportunity.

All former players will receive two complimentary tickets with special seating reserved for Bulldog Basketball Alumni.  Additional tickets will also be available at the door for purchase.  To RSVP and receive tickets, former players should call FSU Athletics at (231) 591-2862.

Registration and ticket pick-up will take place at the "1,000 Wins" table in the main concourse of the Ewigleben Sports Complex on gameday starting at 12 p.m. (ET).  A special Rebounders Club Postgame Reception will follow the halftime celebration and game at the Buffalo Wild Wings location in Big Rapids.

The rivalry contest between the Bulldogs and the Lakers will pit two of the top teams this season in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC). The Bulldogs captured the GLIAC North Division Championship with a pair of wins this past weekend and both teams are currently ranked among the top 10 teams in the NCAA Division II Midwest Regional Rankings.

FSU presently holds a 20-5 overall record and has won 14 of its last 15 outings to date, including 12-straight overall.

Four current senior players will also be honored during Senior Day activities against GVSU including senior standout Justin Keenan, who is currently tied as the GLIAC's all-time career scoring leader and needs a single point versus GVSU to be the lone record holder.  Also slated to be honored are 1,000-point scorer Darien Gay, career blocked shots leader Lou Williams and Matt DeHart, who ranks among the program's all-time bests in both made three-pointers and three-point field goal percentage.

The Bulldog men's basketball squad has made 13 national tournament appearances and now claimed 12 GLIAC Championships in the program's storied history.  FSU is one of only a handful of GLIAC men's or women's basketball teams to notch 1,000 wins.  The program's 1,000th victory came in a 70-68 league home win over Saginaw Valley State on Feb. 5.
