Basketball Teams Open With Exhibitions
Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University men's and
women's basketball teams both will hit the floor in the coming days
with exhibition games on tap in preparation for the 2009-10
season.
The Bulldog men, who were picked to finish second in the Great
Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) North Division
Preseason Media Poll, will square off against the Aquinas Saints on
Thursday (Oct. 29) evening in an exhibition game at Greenville
(Mich.) High School's North Gym. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m.
(EDT).
Meanwhile, the women's team will take the floor this Sunday (Nov.
1) afternoon versus NCAA Division I Oakland with the exhibition
tilt beginning at 2 p.m. (ET) inside OU's Athletics Center O'Rena
in Rochester, Mich. FSU was chosen third in the GLIAC North
Division Preseason Women's Media Poll.
The men's squad will also have two other exhibition games following
Thursday's outing against Aquinas. Next up is a trip on
Tuesday (Nov. 3) to Ohio where the Bulldogs will face NCAA Division
I preseason top 15-ranked Dayton in a 7 p.m. (ET) exhibition at UD
Arena in Dayton, Ohio.
Ferris' men's team will visit longtime West Michigan rival and
perennial NCAA Division III power Calvin the following Tuesday
(Nov. 10) for its final exhibition game with tipoff at 7:30 p.m.
(ET) inside Calvin's new Van Noord Arena at Grand Rapids, Mich.
The men's exhibition game at Dayton is tentatively slated to be
aired live on WBRN 1460 AM & 107.7 FM in Big Rapids.
