FSU Basketball Teams Back At Home This Week
Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University men's and
women's basketball teams will both open the 2010 portion of their
season with a pair of home games this week inside the friendly
confines of FSU's Jim Wink Arena.
The Bulldogs open the homestand by hosting divisional foe Lake
Superior State in a Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference
(GLIAC) doubleheader on Thursday, Jan. 7. The women's game tips off
at 6 p.m. (EST) with the men's game to follow at approximately 8
p.m. (EST).
Thursday's doubleheader is being billed as "Sponsor Appreciation
Night" with free admission tickets being distributed to local
corporate and community sponsors of FSU Athletics.
FSU then squares off against Saginaw Valley State in a conference
home contest as part of the "Basketball Bonanza" high
school-college quadruple header on Saturday, Jan. 9. The event will
feature both two high school and collegiate contests with two local
prep schools, Big Rapids and Chippewa Hills, facing off in high
school boys and girls contests, making it a full-day of hoops
action.
Saturday's action begins at 1 p.m. (EST) with the prep girls game
between BRHS and the Warriors. The two collegiate contests will
follow the girls high school game with the Bulldog women squaring
off against SVSU at 3 p.m. (EST) and the FSU men taking on the
Cardinals at 5 p.m. (EST). Finally, the day's events wrap up with
the high school boys contest between Big Rapids and Chippewa Hills
at 7 p.m. (EST).
Tickets for all games will be sold at the door starting one hour
prior to the day's scheduled tipoff. For more information, please

The FSU women's basketball team will battle two teams currently
right in front of them in the GLIAC North Division standings as
LSSU enters the week with a 4-2 league record and the Cardinals are
presently 2-3 in conference action.
Meanwhile, Thursday's men's game will pit two of the GLIAC's top
teams as Lake Superior State presently leads the North Divison with
a 5-1 conference record and FSU is only a half-game behind at 4-1
in league play. SVSU is tied with Grand Valley State behind the
Bulldogs at 3-2 in the men's divisional standings heading into the
