A former Bulldog player, Travis Eising will embark on his fifth season on the Bulldog staff in 2012 and will work with the defensive line.
Eising has been a member of the coaching staff since 2008. He
initially began as a student assistant coach with the defensive
line before helping with the wide receivers in 2009 and coaching
tight ends in 2010. He assisted with the defensive backs in
2011.
A 2004 graduate of Marion High School, Eising was a four-sport
athlete during his prep career. He earned all-state honors as
a tight end on the gridiron and also played linebacker.
Additionally, he competed in basketball and earned all-state
recognition while helping Marion to the state championship as a
freshman. Besides football and basketball, eh also competed
in baseball along with track and field.
He initially began his collegiate career as a basketball player at
Ferris State and was a member of FSU's 2004-05 squad that claimed a
GLIAC Championship and reached the NCAA Division II Sweet
Sixteen. He embarked on his Bulldog football career in 2005
when he earned Offensive Scout Team Player of the Year honors as a
tight end. He later played H-Back and defensive end in the
final two years of his career before being sidelined with an injury
and starting his coaching career. The Bulldogs' compiled a
25-19 gridiron mark during Eising's playing career from
2005-08.
A 2009 FSU graduate with a degree in marketing/sales, Eising is
the son of Dale and Lynna Eising and has two brothers, Tyler and
Trevor, along with a younger sister, Tierra. His brother
Tyler serves as the head basketball coach at Kingsley High
School.
