Ferris State's Carson Gulker Tabbed As GLIAC Football Offensive Player Of The Week

Big Rapids, Mich. - For the second time this fall, Ferris State University redshirt freshman quarterback Carson Gulker (Zeeland/West) has been tabbed as the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Football Offensive Player of the Week.

Gulker had a big day as the Bulldogs closed out the regular-season with a decisive 40-14 road win at Wayne State on Saturday in Detroit.

In snowy weather, Gulker ran for a game-high 189 yards rushing on 26 carries, averaging 7.3 yards per rush, while totaling three scores on the ground. He also completed nine-of-17 throws for 197 yards and a score.

Overall, he accounted for nearly 400 yards of total offense and four touchdowns for FSU, which racked up 545 total yards and 330 rushing yards in the contest.

With the win, the Bulldogs finished the regular-season 9-1 overall this year and earned the number two seed in the region for the NCAA Division II Playoffs.

Ferris State will host fellow GLIAC rival Davenport for the second time in three weeks in the opening round of postseason action this Saturday, Nov. 19, at Top Taggart Field. Kickoff for the NCAA Division II Playoff contest is slated for 1 p.m. (ET).
