Ferris State's Carson Gulker Earns GLIAC Offensive Player Of The Week Honor

Big Rapids, Mich. - For the first time in his collegiate career, Ferris State University redshirt freshman quarterback Carson Gulker (Zeeland/West) has claimed this week's Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Offensive Player of the Week award.

Gulker had a big day for the nationally-ranked Bulldogs, accounting for all four Bulldog scores in a hard-fought 28-20 home win over Michigan Tech on Saturday (Oct. 22) at Top Taggart Field. Gulker played the entire second half and led FSU to three scores in the final two periods, including a 75-yard touchdown throw to Tyrese Hunt-Thompson with only 8:44 to play to push the margin back to two scores.

In the win, Gulker ran for a game-high 103 yards on 23 carries with three TD's on the ground while completing seven-of-13 passes for 174 yards and a score. His play helped the FSU offensive total more than 400 yards in the victory, moving to 6-1 overall this season.

This week, the Bulldogs head to Michigan's Upper Peninsula to face the Northern Michigan Wildcats inside the Superior Dome on Saturday (Oct. 29) in Marquette. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. (ET).
