FSU Hosts Ohio Dominican On "Agriculture Day"

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University football team returns home to host the Ohio Dominican Panthers this Saturday (Sept. 17) evening at FSU's Top Taggart Field in Big Rapids, Mich.  Kickoff for the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) game is set for 7 p.m. (EDT).

Tickets for the contest are currently on sale and can be obtained by contacting the FSU Athletics Ticket Office at (231) 591-2888. They can also be bought online at www.startickets.com. Tickets are $7 adults or $5 students (K-12), senior citizens and FSU faculty/staff. Ferris students with ID will be admitted free as will children not yet of school age.

Saturday is being billed as "Agriculture Day" with a number of special activities in conjunction with the "Football and Farming: An American Tradition" theme, which is sponsored by the Michigan Farm Bureau Family of Companies. The fun starts at 4 p.m. (ET) and will include a kids area complete with a straw maze, agricultural trivia, face tattoos, vegetable decorating and giveaways.

Additional events will feature a hospitality tent open to everyone with water, potato chips and string cheese in addition to an equipment area with both new and antique equipment.  Fans will also have an opportunity to interact with farmers and learn more about an important part of the community and how food is grown.

Ferris State owns a 1-1 overall record to date this year after a pair of games both decided by three points.  Meanwhile, Ohio Dominican will make its first-ever trip to Big Rapids holding a perfect 2-0 mark after a 44-30 league road win at Northwood this past Saturday (Sept. 10).

A year ago, the Bulldogs visited Ohio Dominican and battled to a 34-28 victory in the first-ever matchup between the two schools.

Saturday's game will be broadcast live locally by the Bulldog Sports Network and Sunny 97.3 FM with Rob Bentley handling the play-by-play duties and Sandy Gholston offering color commentary.  A live video and audio webcast complete with internet statistics will be available through FSU's all-access video portal for a charge of $7.95 on FSU's Athletics Website at www.FerrisStateBulldogs.com.
