Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University football program has added three additional signees to its 2011 recruiting class, which was previously announced last week by FSU head coach Jeff Pierce.
In addition to the 28 newcomers who joined the program on National Signing Day, the Bulldogs have added three additional Michigan prep student-athletes with the signings of wide receiver Mason Borders (Grass Lake/Chelsea), offensive lineman Danzell Maze (Grand Rapids/Ottawa Hills) and defensive back Cody Myers (Frederic/Grayling).
Below are biographical sketches of the three new signees.
(WR, 6-4, 180 - Grass Lake/Chelsea)
Caught 32 passes for 755 yards as a prep senior ..... Scored eight touchdowns ..... Accounted for more than half of his team's receiving yards and 50% of its touchdowns ..... Single-season yardage ranks as third most in school history .... Was a Division 3-4 All-State Honorable Mention choice .... First Team all-conference honoree.
(OL, 6-1, 330 – Grand Rapids/Ottawa Hills)
Two-time all-state and all-conference pick ….. Team captain …… Two-way starter …… Was a two-time all-area Dream Team recipient ….. Named to West Michigan All-Star Team in 2010 …… Played both offensive and defensive line …… Received Detroit News Division 1-2 All-State laurels ……
(DB, 6-0, 170 - Frederic/Grayling)
All-Area Honoree .... Detroit Free Press All-State recipient ..... Also participates in track and field ..... Earned all-conference accolades ..... Played both defensive back and wide receiver ..... Also served as a return man.
The three additions bring the size of this year's signing class to 29 prep products along with two transfer student-athletes for a total of 31 individuals.
