GLIAC To Launch Football Website Wednesday
Big Rapids, Mich. - The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic
Conference (GLIAC) will unveil its 2010 preseason poll in
conjunction with the launch of a special website on Wednesday (Aug.
18).
The 2010 GLIAC Football Media Day Website is expected to go live
tomorrow and include information on the upcoming campaign with
video comments from respective head coaches, video highlights of
top returning players and links to team media guides and
information in addition to the preseason poll. The GLIAC
Football media guide and record book will also be published to the
site.
The special website takes the place of the annual GLIAC Football
Media Day luncheon, which was not held this year. However, each
head coach was present earlier this month for the conference's
annual head coaches meeting and filmed a short video segment
discussing their respective teams and the upcoming season.
The video interviews with the head coaches were conducted in the
campus television studio at Saginaw Valley State University prior
to the start of fall camp and each coach was interviewed by SVSU
radio play-by-play announcer J.J. Boehm.
The website, which was created by Presto Sports, will be available
live online thru the official conference website at www.gliac.org.
The 2010 GLIAC football season officially kicks off with five
non-conference games on Thursday, Sept. 2. Five other games
will be contested on opening weekend, including Ferris State's
non-league tilt at Hillsdale on Friday, Sept. 3.
The league schedule begins the following week with all 14 schools
in action on Saturday, Sept. 11. The final week of GLIAC play
will take place on Saturday, Nov. 13.
