First Two Football Practices In The Books

Big Rapids, Mich. - The first two practices of the 2010 Ferris
State University football campaign are in the books as the Bulldogs
continue to gear towards their season opener on Sept. 3.
The Bulldogs held their initial practice on Friday (Aug. 13) at
Top Taggart Field. The second workout took place on Saturday
(Aug. 14) morning at the FSU practice fields located south of the
stadium. Both of the first two workouts consisted of helmets
only.
In addition to the practice sessions, the Bulldogs have had a full
day of activity with various orientation sessions, position
meetings, team gatherings, lifting workouts and special teams
groups.
Ferris is slated to practice in the afternoon each of the next
three days (Sunday-Tuesday) in helmets and shoulder pads
only. The first two-a-day session is scheduled for Wednesday
(Aug. 18) when the Bulldogs also put on full pads for the first
time.
FSU's initial preseason scrimmage is set for next Saturday, Aug. 21, at 9:30 a.m. (EDT). The final scrimmage will be held prior to FSU's annual media/photo day activities on Friday, Aug. 27. The scrimmage will begin at 9 a.m. (EDT) with the media/photo day taking place at 1 p.m. (EDT).
Ferris State will kickoff its 102nd season of varsity
competition Friday, Sept. 3, against the Hillsdale Chargers in a 7
p.m. (EDT) non-conference contest at HC's Muddy Waters Stadium in
Hillsdale, Mich.
The Bulldogs then open Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic
Conference (GLIAC) play the following week with their first home
contest of the 2010 season versus Saginaw Valley State on Saturday,
Sept. 11. Kickoff for the "Honoring American Heroes" Day tilt
is scheduled for 6 p.m. (EDT) with a variety of activities taking
place throughout the day.
