"Countdown To Kickoff" Series Starts Monday

A "Countdown To Kickoff" series will debut Monday (Aug. 17) at www.ferrisstatebulldogs.com with a position-by-position report as the Ferris State University football team prepares for its season opener versus Tiffin on Aug. 29 at Top Taggart Field.

The eight-part series' will be put together by the FSU Athletics Communications Office and include a short daily report with a different position group featured each day.  Monday's premiere article will highlight the quarterbacks followed daily by the running backs, wide receivers and offensive line.

The series' will continue with the defensive side of the ball as the linemen are featured next Friday (Aug. 21) followed by the linebackers.  It will conclude Sunday (Aug. 23) as the Bulldogs begin game week preparations with a two-part feature on both the secondary and special teams units.

The Bulldogs are currently midst fall camp practices.  FSU will hold its final scrimmage prior to the annual media/fans photo day activities on Friday, Aug. 21. The final scrimmage will begin at 9 a.m. (EDT) with the media/photo day taking place at 1 p.m. (EDT).

Ferris State will kickoff its 101st season of varsity competition Saturday, Aug. 29, against the Tiffin (Ohio) Dragons in a 7 p.m. (EDT) non-conference contest at Top Taggart Field. The game will take place during FSU "Welcome Week" activities and be part of a true "Community Football Day" atmosphere as Big Rapids High School will also open its 2009 season versus Holton earlier in the day (2:30 p.m.) in the same facility and a rocket football contest will be part of the FSU halftime events.
