FSU To Honor Student-Athletes This Thursday
Big Rapids, Mich. - Ferris State University will honor the
academic success of its various student-athletes in a special
halftime ceremony this Thursday (Dec. 2) evening in conjunction
with the Bulldogs' basketball doubleheader at FSU's Jim Wink
Arena.
The Bulldogs' Student-Athlete Academic Achievement Night
presentation will take place at halftime of the FSU women's
basketball game against Tiffin, which is slated for an 8 p.m. (ET)
start.
The nationally-ranked Ferris men's basketball team opens the
evening doubleheader with its first Great Lakes Intercollegiate
Athletic Conference (GLIAC) contest versus the Dragons at 6 p.m.
(ET) as part of the league's new scheduling format with the men
playing first in conference games this year.
The halftime presentation will include recognition of
student-athletes from FSU's 15 varsity programs earning GLIAC
All-Academic honors for the spring 2010 season along with Ferris
recipients of the Division II Athletic Directors Association (ADA)
Academic Achievement Awards for the 2009-10 athletics campaign.
In addition to fellow students and fans, FSU faculty members are
also invited to attend and help recognize these student-athletes
for their academic efforts.
Tickets for Thursday's doubleheader will be sold at the door
starting one hour prior to game time. FSU students are admitted
