Athletics Open House Held Monday Evening
Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University Athletics
Department hosted an open house for students on Monday (Aug. 31)
evening with a variety of events taking place at the Ewigleben
Sports Complex in Big Rapids, Mich.
The event, which was a part of FSU Welcome Week activities,
featured student-athletes and coaches from all 15 of the Bulldogs'
varsity athletics programs. Various events were held in Jim
Wink Arena, the Ewigleben Ice Arena and the Ewigleben Sports Arena
within the facility.
During the evening activities, students were given the opportunity
to compete in a variety of things such as volleyball, ice skating,
basketball, soccer and football throwing contests. Several
large inflatables were also available, which allowed participants
the chance to test their throwing speed, practice kicking field
goals and throwing the football for accuracy along with measuring
their basketball shooting skills.
In addition to providing students with the chance to connect with
FSU Athletics, the event also helped forge a bonding experience for
various student-athletes who were able to interact with each other
and compete in other sports throughout the evening.
