Teddy Bear Toss Held During Bulldog Hockey Game

The Ferris State University Athletics Department held its annual Toys For Tots' Teddy Bear Toss on December 11 during the Bulldog men's ice hockey contest against the Alaska Nanooks at Big Rapids, Mich.

Fans attending the final 2010 home contest were encouraged to bring a teddy bear or stuffed animal to the game.

The Teddy Bear Toss took place following Ferris State's first goal scored in the game and those stuffed animal(s) collected went directly to benefit needy children in the Big Rapids local areas for the Christmas Holiday.

The U.S. Marine Corps Toys For Tots Foundation was formed to collect new, unwrapped toys during October, November and December each year and then distribute those toys as Christmas gifts to needy children in their local communities.  The program is aimed at helping needy children throughout the United States of America experience the joy of Christmas along with the message of hope to these underpriviledged children to motivate them into being responsible, productive, patriotic citizens and community leaders.
