Big Rapids, Mich. - The nation's top-ranked Ferris State University women's volleyball squad officially received its 13th consecutive NCAA Tournament berth and the right to host the Midwest Regional Tournament for the fourth time in the past decade as announced late Monday (Nov. 25) night by the national women's volleyball committee.

Ferris State, which is seeded first overall in the field, will host the regional tournament action next Thursday thru Saturday, Dec. 5-7, inside FSU's Bulldog Arena.

Top-seeded FSU was chosen as the number one seed and will host the single-elimination regional tournament this season. This year will represent the seventh time in school history in which the Bulldogs will host NCAA Tournament competition and the first inside Bulldog Arena. FSU most recently hosted the Midwest Regional in 2015, 2016 and 2021 at Wink Arena.

FSU will square off against Missouri-St. Louis of the Great Lakes Valley Conference, the number eight seed, in the quarterfinal round on Thursday, Dec. 5, at 4:30 p.m. (ET).

Ferris State will be making its 13th consecutive NCAA Tournament bid, not counting the 2020 season in which no event was held due to COVID-19, and has advanced to at least the regional semifinals 11 of the past 12 years. FSU's upcoming regional appearance will represent the program's 28th all-time as the Bulldogs have compiled a 25-28 overall record in NCAA Tournament competition.

Ferris State, which is coached by 29th-year head coach Tia Brandel-Wilhelm, is presently unbeaten with a nation-best 31-0 overall record this year heading into NCAA Tourney play.
The Bulldogs finished the regular-season as the GLIAC Champions with a perfect 17-0 league mark.

Along with winning this year's GLIAC regular-season crown, Ferris State also captured the 2024 GLIAC Tournament Championship on Sunday (Nov. 24) as FSU topped rival Grand Valley State at home to earn the program's 11th league tourney title in school history and the 10th in the past 11 seasons.

The Division II Women's Volleyball Committee selected a total of 64 teams to participate in the 2024 Division II Women's Volleyball Championship. Eight teams were selected from each of the following eight regions: Atlantic, Central, East, Midwest, South, South Central, Southeast and West.

The eight, eight-team regionals will be played at on-campus sites. Regional competition will be single-elimination, best three-of-five-set matches and will not include a third-place match. The winners of each of the eight regionals will advance to the finals, Dec. 12-14, at the Sanford Pentagon in Sioux Falls, S.D. Competition at the finals site will be single-elimination; best three-of-five-set matches.

The Bulldogs captured the Midwest Regional Championship in 2013 to advance to the NCAA Division II Elite Eight and the national quarterfinal round. FSU has advanced to the Sweet Sixteen five times in the past eight years.
