Ferris State Wins For Second-Straight Day In Florida In Women's Tennis Action

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University softball team won for the second-straight day in Florida as FSU topped Minnesota State in a neutral site match on Monday (March 9) in Tampa, Fla.

The Bulldogs, who beat Eckerd (Fla.) on the road Sunday by a 9-0 count, moved to 15-7 overall this year with the decisive triumph. It was FSU's fourth victory in six spring outings to date.

Ferris State won at the first and third doubles positions to take a 2-1 lead into the singles round where the Bulldogs maanged to sweep all six flights.

All six of the Bulldogs' singles wins came in straight-sets as the Mavericks never threatened FSU in singles competition.

A total of eight different individuals helped the Bulldogs win the encounter with both Noelly Longi Nsimba and Janie Sell posting wins in singles and doubles action on the day.

Minnesota State dropped to 4-5 overall this year with the loss to the Bulldogs.

Ferris State continues its spring break trip to the Sunshine State as FSU visits Rollins (Fla.) on Tuesday for a 4 p.m. (ET) non-conference match. The Bulldogs will then face Southern Indiana on Wednesday in Cape Canaveral before visiting Florida Southern to wrap up the trip on Thursday.
