Ferris State Soccer Reloads With Eight Prep Additions In 2023 Recruiting Class

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University women's soccer program, which reached the NCAA Division II Final Four for the first time in school history this past season, has announced the additions of eight talented prep student-athletes, who will join the FSU program this coming fall as part of the 2023 recruiting class.

Head Coach Greg Henson and the Bulldogs have inked seven in-state recruits along with an out-of-state signee in this year's class as they reload a talented roster.

This year's signees include Isabella Baron (Romeo), Sydney Bourdon (Livonia/Divine Child), Elliott Ford (Louisville, Ky./Oldham County), Lydia Jacobs (Saginaw/Nouvel), Emmerson Lukomski (Plymouth/Salem), Maryn Rettenmund (Fenton/Linden), Kaylie Samluk (New Hudson/South Lyon East) and Katherine Welch (Ada/Grand Rapids Christian).

The Bulldogs won their first-ever NCAA Regional Championship this past year and earned a national quarterfinal win to move on to the NCAA D2 National Semifinals for the first time in the program's third national tournament appearance. FSU claimed four postseason victories along the way and went 11-3-5 in its final 19 games of the year.

Prep standout at Romeo High School ... Coached by Trevor Foster ... National Honor Society member ... Plans to major in biology at FSU ... Plays as a center midfielder ... All-district and all-academic honoree ... Led team to the 2021 district championship ... Her father played basketball at Ferris State while in college ... Has also played for club level soccer for Spring Michigan in the ECNL Regional League.

Sydney Bourdon
Divine Child High School
Michigan Hawks ECNL RL

Four-year standout forward at Divine Child High School ... Also has played basketball for four years ... Member of various organizations including the Varsity Club and Medical Club ... Also involved in the Snowboard and Ski Club ... Plans to major in nursing ... Coached by Brian Leslie, Robert Grden and Nick Celeski ... Competed for the Michigan Hawks in the ECNL Regional League ... All-State honoree ... Also named to the Metro Detroit Dream Team ... Two-Time all-district and all-region choice ... Had 18 goals and six assists in 2022 ... Led team to both district and regional championships in her prep career ... Won the Club Soccer State Cup Championship in 2021.
