Ferris State Soccer To Hold NSCAA Open Training Session For Coaches On April 7
Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University women's soccer program will take part in a nationwide initiative as the Bulldogs will participate in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Open Training Week in early April.
The NSCAA is launching Open Training Week from April 3-9 in cities across the country. Men's and women's teams at the college and professional levels will welcome local soccer coaches in their communities to attend a practice with the goal of uniting coaches around the love of the game.
The nationwide initiative, led by new NSCAA President Charlie Slagle, will provide an opportunity for coaches from all levels and backgrounds to experience new environments, observe high-level training sessions and learn from one another.
The Bulldogs will hold an open training session on Friday, April 7, from 6:45 to 9 a.m. (ET) at the Bulldog Soccer Complex located on campus.
""We're really excited to partner with the NSCAA and Open Training Week 2017," said FSU head coach Andy McCaslin. "It's a fantastic concept from the NSCAA that brings all levels of coaches together to watch other coaches sessions and it's happening all over the country. It's a great way to help grow the game.
"It will hopefully give coaches new ideas to take back to their teams and open up ideas on how to see the game," he added. "It's also a great way to showcase the beautiful Ferris State campus, our soccer program, our student athletes, and our brand new facilities to the soccer community."
Coaches interested in attending the open training session can RSVP thru the NSCAA at the link below or email Coach McCaslin at: mccasla@ferris.edu.
Currently, more than 200 college and professional teams across the country are registered to participate in NSCAA Open Training Week. All events are free and you do not need to be a NSCAA member to attend. Attendees who are not current NSCAA members and enroll online will receive a free, six-month trial membership for participating in the open training week.
