Ferris State Women's Golf 10th After Two Rounds At NCAA D2 National Championships

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University women's golf team concluded day two action on Wednesday (May 13) at the 2026 NCAA Division II National Championships at the PGA National Course in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.

The Bulldogs concluded round one play on Wednesday morning after lightning delayed the initial round on Tuesday. FSU then played round two action on day two.

Presently, FSU sits 10th overall in the 18-team field with a +45 figure thru two rounds of play in the 54-hole event. The final round is set for Thursday (May 14) with the top eight teams advancing to the national quarterfinals.

The Bulldogs are currently only five strokes out of eighth place overall with a 621 total. FSU carded a 309 in round one and came back with a 312 in round two.

The leaderboard presently features Dallas Baptist in first place (587) with Wingate second (588) and Anderson (SC) third (602).

FSU's Kamryn Shannon and Ashley Thomasma are both tied for 32nd place overall as each are nine-over par thru 36 holes of play with a 153 score. Shannon shot a 78 in round one and a 75 in round two while Thomasma carded a 79 in the first round followed by a 74 in the second round.

The Bulldogs' Lizzie Anderson is tied for 49th overall at 156, notching a 76 in round one and an 80 in round two.

Meanwhile, Kylie Walker is tied for 64th overall as she shot a 76 in the first round and an 83 in the second round for a 159 total.

Finally, Taylor Musselman sits tired for 90th overall at 171, shooting a first-round 83 followed by an 88 in the second round of action.

The Bulldogs are slated to hit the tee starting at 8:30 a.m. (ET) for round three on Wednesday.

The Bulldogs, who placed third overall last week in the NCAA D2 East Regional to advance to the national championships, are among 18 competing teams vying for the national championship. Eight individuals are also taking part in the event.

The D2 National Championships are being hosted by Palm Beach Atlantic University and the Palm Beach Sports Commission. The field includes the top five teams from the Central Region, the top four teams from the East Region along with the top four teams in the South Region and the top five teams in the West Region. There are a total of 98 golfers in the field.

Each team will compete in 54 holes of play with a round of 18 each day thru Thursday. The top eight teams in the field will then advance to the head-to-head match play quarterfinals on Friday morning with the semifinals slated for Friday afternoon and the championship match scheduled for Saturday.

This year's trip to the national championship finals represents FSU's 11th in school history and second in a row. Last year, the Bulldogs made their first appearance in the national championships in 16 years dating back to 2009. FSU placed 17th overall a season ago at the national championships.
