FSU Women's Golf Finishes Seventh At Midwest Collegiate Championship
Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University women's golf team wrapped up its first action of the fall season with a seventh-place team finish on Tuesday (Sept. 10) at the Midwest Collegiate Championship in Peru, Ind.
The Bulldogs finished at +74 for the tournament after 54 holes of action, which included a +26 figure in Tuesday's final 18 holes of play.
Findlay won the team championship with a +11 figure followed by Missouri-St. Louis (+36) and Central Missouri (+38) in the top three of the 16-team field.
FSU was led by Kamryn Shannon, who placed 12th individually with a +10 tournament total after three rounds of play. She shot +5 in both the first and third rounds along with an even par figure in the middle round.
Next in line for Ferris State was Lizzie Anderson with a +11 score, which placed tied for 14th overall. Anderson had a +2 score in the last round, matching her first-round total on Monday to go with a +7 score in the middle round.
The Bulldogs' Kylie Walker placed tied for 32nd in the field with a +20 total as she shot a +6 score over the final round after identical +7 marks in the first two rounds.
Another Bulldog newcomer, Ashley Thomasma, came in tied for 58th at +33 for the tourney. She finished with a +13 following rounds of +11 and +9 in Monday's first and second rounds.
Hallie Crozier also competed for the Bulldogs and finished 66th with a +36 effort. Crozier was +15 in the last round after scores of +11 and +10 in the opening two rounds.
Ferris State's Paige Anderson competed as an individual and was 57th with a +32 total, notching a +11 score over the final round. She had shot +12 and +9 in the first and second round, respectively.
FSU's Lauren Kempf also competed as an individual and came in tied for 61st overall, recording a +34 three-round total. On Monday, she shot +8 and +11 in each of the first two rounds before closing with a +15 on Tuesday.
The Bulldogs will next be in action on Sept. 30 and Oct. 1 at the Beall Fall Classic in Findlay, Ohio.
