Ferris State Cross Country Squads Wrap Up 2025 GLIAC Championships
Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University men's cross country squad finished sixth and the women took seventh at the 2025 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Championships held on Saturday (Oct. 25) in Grand Rapids.
The league competition was hosted by Davenport University and took place at the Calvin University Cross Country Course.
The Bulldogs tallied 168 points overall in finishing sixth in the men's 8K event, which was won by Grand Valley State with 17 points. A total of nine schools took part.
Emmett Johnson led the Bulldogs as he finished 29th overall in a time of 25:25.90. Ryan Ososki came in 39th (25:47.20) with Ben Knuth 42nd (25:56.10) and Aaron Bowerman 45th (26:02.40) for FSU. Josh Ooom also was 61st in a time of 26:37.10 among Ferris State's top five finishers.
In the women's event, the Bulldogs finished with 179 points overall in placing seventh in a field of 11 schools. The race covered a 6K distance.
The Ferris State women's team was paced by Whitney Farrell, who took 19th overall in a time of 21:47.10. Ella Kowatch came in 38th (22:32.30) with Jessica Durkee 45th (22:41.60) and Emily Plouff 52nd (22:48.10). Tessa Wohlschlegel placed 61st (23:08.40) and Olivia Van Denend was 62nd (23:08.60) for FSU.
Both Ferris State teams will next take part in the NCAA Division II Midwest Regional Championships set for Nov. 8 in Kenosha, Wis.
