Ferris State Men Finish Fifth, Women Eighth At GLIAC Indoor Championships

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University men's and women's indoor track and field squads completed action in the 2026 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Championships on Sunday (March 1) in University Center.

The Bulldog men's squad took fifth place with 47 total points in the eight-team field while the women's squad came in eighth with 13 points among 10 competing teams.

In the women's competition, FSU's Whitney Farrell placed fourth in the 3,000 meters (9:56.70). She was also seventh in the 5,000 meters (17:16.73).

Sadie Larson took eighth place in the 60-meter hurdles (9.40).

Ferris State was also fifth in the distance medley relay (12:41.77) that included the quartet of Taylor Huntoon, Oliviah Malloy, Abby Griffith and Olivia Van Denend. FSU took eighth in the 4x400-meter relay (4:06.46) with the group of Breanna Campbell, Grace Bullock, Claudia Johnson and Darnesha Fraley competing.

On the men's side, Lucas Seifferlein placed second in the 400 meters (48.65). Blace Farrington finished fourth in the 60. Meters (6.93) with Trevor Smith seventh (6.95). Farrington was seventh in the 200 meters (21.93) and Smith came in eighth (22.12).

FSU's Andrew Shafley was sixth in the 800 metes (1:54.93) with Josh Langland seventh (1:55.42) and Jared Watchorn eighth (1:55.62). Blaine Rogers was seventh in the 60-meter hurdles (8.47).

The Bulldogs' 4x400-meter relay team of Chase Segaar, Langland, Luke Berney and Seifferlein earned runner-up honors (3:16.08). Meanwhile, the distance medley relay squad of Shafley, Langland, Watchorn and David Harris came in fourth (10:08.52).

In the throwing events, Devin Dennison was third in the weight throw (65-4) and Hunter Richardson placed seventh in the shot put (48-11.5).
