Ferris State Tennis Squads Roll Past Calvin In Non-League Home Sweep
Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University men's and women's tennis teams recorded another home sweep on Saturday (Feb. 14) as both teams took down Calvin in non-league play at the FSU Racquet and Fitness Center.
The FSU men's team claimed a 7-0 shutout over the Knights while the women earned a 6-1 decision against Calvin.
In the women's match to start the day, the Bulldogs took the doubles point with wins at the first two spots in the lineup. FSU then came back in singles competition to claim five of fix sights in straight sets for the triumph.
Meanwhile, the Ferris State men's team also generated the initial point of the match while winning the doubles crown and then notched wins in all six singles flights. None of the six singles matches went to a third set.
The Bulldog men are now 5-1 overall and the women hold a 4-1 mark.
Ferris State will close out the weekend at home on Sunday (Feb. 15) versus McKendree (Ill.) in regional play in Big Rapids. The women's match starts at 9 a.m. (ET) with the men's match slated for a 1 p.m. (ET).
